The Dallas Chapter of the Association of Wedding Professionals (AWP) has voted The Atrium as the 2007-2008 “Venue of the Year”. Eleven venues are nominated each year. Each nominee hosts one of the chapter meetings and is evaluated by the membership. At the end of the year, the venue with the highest rating receives the “Venue of the Year” award.
The Atrium hosted the February 2008 chapter meeting. The décor and menu were based on a “Mardi Gras” theme. The food & beverage for the event was provided by “Wrapped Around You” caterers.
The Atrium staff of Mark Wilson, event director; Matt Hosek, event coordinator; and Richard Anderson, technical manager was honored to receive this exciting award. This recognition marks the first time the AWP award has been given to a non-hotel venue.
“We were up against some very stiff competition this year and we are so thrilled and proud to honor the Arts Center and the City of Garland with this very prestigious award,” proclaimed Mark Wilson.
“I am so proud of the Atrium team for this important achievement,” said Patty Granville, Director of the Granville Arts Center. “The Atrium staff provides amazing creative consultation and special coordination for each event. This has resulted in a reputation for excellence at the Atrium which is known throughout the Metroplex area.”
